With the implementation of the RCEP agreement, the coverage of this economic region will overtake the European Union as the world's largest economy. Economic and trade first, culture and education later, we believe that cultural and educational exchanges between the region will become more and more active. Therefore, reputable universities, educational institutions, and training organizations from RCEP member countries will be invited, fostering international educational cooperation. This fair will be Malaysia's first educational event focused on RCEP member countries.

In anticipation of 2024, Life Education Academy Malaysia held a press conference on January 11 at Confucian Independent Secondary School, officially announcing the “2024 LEAM International Higher Education Fair” scheduled for April. The fair will take place at Confucian Private Secondary School on April 17 and Wembley Hotel, Penang on April 19, from 9 am to 3 pm. In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations in 2024, more well-known Chinese universities are specifically invited to strengthen educational cooperation between Malaysia and China, promoting deeper academic and cultural exchanges.

As of now, 32 prestigious universities from six countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, China, Australia, the Philippines, and South Korea, have expressed interest, are in the application process, or have already registered for participation. Among them are institutions with distinct characteristics and outstanding academic strengths, providing students entering the university with the best choices. Local vocational and technical colleges are also actively participating, offering students more diverse opportunities for further education.

The planned participating institutions include Tianjin University, Wuhan Technology and Business University, Ocean University of China, Nanjing University, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Hunan Normal University, Beihang University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Changzhou University, Hengxing University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, University of Nottingham Ningbo China, Lingnan Normal University, Jianhua University, Daekin University, Mapua University, UCSI, IUMW, Peninsula College, Oskano Academy, Choice Education Group, Dasein Academy of Art, Equator College, Quest International University, University of Cyberjaya, Kolej MDIS Malaysia, SEGi College Subang Jaya, University of Southampton, Southern University College, Creative Art and Design Academy, SUS Academy Multimedia and Design College, Talentedge Academy, and so on.

During the press conference, Principal of Confucian Private Secondary School Mr. Goh Ben Peng expressed his gratefulness, “We hope to assist students in finding high-quality pathways, helping them move towards higher academic levels or deepening their skills. Many universities today emphasize the holistic development of students, not just focusing on academic achievements. We are pleased because this education fair provides students with a special opportunity to personally experience the different cultures of universities and gain a deep understanding of the diverse demands for talent in society.”

Mr. Bock Chek Lim, CEO of LEAM, stated, “Education is hope, and LEAM encourages high school graduates to continue their education, enhancing their competitiveness in the future job market. In addition, local vocational and technical colleges are also invited to participate. With the advent of the Industry 4.0 era, our country is facing a large number shortage of technical personnel required for national transformation. Vocational and technical education should be a choice, not a last resort. We encourage students to choose majors according to their interests, enhance their skills, and make more contributions to our society.”

On the day of the fair, Life Education Academy Malaysia will set up a consultation booth to provide students with personalized advice on further education. Students will have the opportunity to directly communicate with university representatives, gaining in-depth knowledge of each university's admissions criteria, programs offering, and other crucial information.

Mr. Nyam Kee Han, Director of Kotelo Educare, added, “In organizing this education fair, we have made every effort to ensure its diversity, bringing in distinctive higher education institutions from various countries and locally. We believe that the 2024 LEAM International Higher Education Fair is worth the visit and response from students, parents, and the general public. Participants can obtain more comprehensive information about further education and then choose the university that suits them best. Therefore, we also urge universities or technical colleges that have not yet registered for participation to promptly enrol and secure their exhibition slots.”

2024 LEAM International Higher Education Fair aims to promote international higher education cooperation, establish an academic exchange platform, and open up broader paths to further education for students. We call on parents, teachers, and students to join the fair to enable students achieve their dreams of higher education. The fair provides a wide range of choices for students and promotes exchanges and cooperation between domestic and international universities, contributing to the prosperity and development of the education sector.
